As a Business Taxpayer with a 10 digit PIN, simply click the checkbox and you can finalize the signature.  If you don't have the PIN, you will use your mouse to generate a signature image at the bottom of the return.  As you see in the picture below, this signature will be applied to an EMP-8453 form and automatically submitted to us with the return.  This document serves as your signature for the return and this is accepted by the IRS as a valid signature for an e-filed return.  If you need to redo the signature, simply click Clear Signature on the menu to start over.  You can also Cancel the signature and come back to do it again later.  Keep in mind that once a return is signed, it becomes read only.  You will have to remove the signature to make any changes after it has been finalized.  When you are satisfied with the signature, simply click Finalize Signature and it will be applied to the return.

Please note that if you are using an external signature, simply click Finalize Signature after you have attached the signed document in the Attach Signature Document dialog.

For Excise Returns, you can use a 5 digit PIN to sign a 2290, but PIN's are not supported for Form 720 or 8849.  You will use the same signature capture feature, however the software will generate a EX-8453 for these returns and automatically transfer it for processing.
